Taking Gibson's rosewood round should powerhouse to all new heights, the J-29 is back for the 2016 model year and better than ever before thanks to a range of updates and improvements. Meticulously handcrafted by the talented luthiers at Gibson Acoustic, the J-29 is made exclusively from solid tonewoods, which include a grade-AA Sitka spruce soundboard and sonically & visually striking rosewood back and sides. Paired with scalloped 1930s advanced X-bracing, the J-29  produces a rich, full-bodied acoustic voice with unsurpassed depth and tonal balance. Players from all genres and styles will surely appreciate the wide dynamic range of the J-29. If you prefer a more rounded neck profile, you'll love the feel of this neck. Made from mahogany, the neck sports a shorter 24.75" scale length and a 12"-radius rosewood fingerboard with a traditional-style 1.725" Tusq nut. For 2016, playability and comfort has been enhanced on the J-29 thanks to a premium PLEK setup along with softened fingerboard edges. From the stage to the studio, superior amplified tone is delivered through the J-29's upgraded LR Baggs Element VTC electronics. A set of high-quality nickel Grover Rotomatic tuning machines and a rectangle rosewood bridge with a Tusq saddle round out the J-29.
